Sarah's House is always in need of cleaning supplies and paper products

The Calpine Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Deer Park Battleground Golf Course on May 28, 2010.  For the third year in a row the tournament has raised a record amount in donations benefiting Sarah's House.  The 2010 golf tournament, coordinated by Calpine's Deer Park Energy Center and Clear Lake Power Plant, raised a little more than $102,000, surpassing last year's record of $64,000.   Deer Park Plant Manager, Sam Weaver, has helped spearhead the charity golf tournament since its inception in 2001.  If not for the generosity of Calpine over the past 5 years, Sarah's House would have most likely had to close its doors.  Now we will be able to repair the leaking roof, hopefully install a sprinkler system which will enable us to increase our occupancy limit and continue to help many women work toward a future they once thought unattainable with programs in job training, education, counseling and housing.  Words cannot express how much we appreciate all Calpine has done and continues to do for the women and children of Sarah's House
